Being out in the wild can be an exhilarating experience for all, young or old, and gives rise to so many positive effects. Both physical and mental.

The actual term “Wilderness” is classed as officially designated land and made law through the Wilderness Act of 1964

In fact the United states was the very first country to recognize and designate this land and legally defines it as:

“an area where the earth and its community of life are untrammeled by man, where man himself is a visitor who does not remain”.

As a part of creating this legal definition, the National Wilderness Preservation System was founded.
There are over 1,000,000 acres of designated wilderness within the United states.

Everyone needs to go outside –

Being outside is good for everyone, and with so much to choose from, you can find all types of wildlife to suit everyone.
Children love the wild and love learning the skills our ancestors took for granted. They love to have their own survival gear list, with their own equipment – it gives them a sense of independence.

Teach them wilderness first aid and they will be confident to tackle emergencies in the real world.

Everything about the outdoors gives them confidence and new found abilities that will help them as they grow.

If you have never been out camping or hiking, then you have a very big part of your life missing – your never to old to be part of the great outdoors.
